'CLICK' NOISE ORIGINATING FROM CRUISE CONTROL (NEW KIT)

Subject: CLICK TYPE NOISE ORIGINATING FROM CRUISE CONTROL SERVO

Model and Year: 1987-91CORSICAANDBERETTA EXCEPT 2.3L ENGINE

A condition may exist on some 1987-91 Corsica and Beretta vehicles where upon engagement or during operation, the cruise control servo may emit a "click" type noise.

The condition is created from the internal action of the cruise control assembly during operation.

If the noise is more than the customer desires, an insulator kit may be installed at the servo mounting bracket to assist in dampening the noise.

Install cruise control servo insulator kit, P/N 22577500 per instructions included in the package.

Parts are expected to be available on July 15, 1991. Until then normal part orders will not be accepted by GMSPO. Only verifiable emergency VIP orders will be accepted. General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
