APPLICATION: 1992 Chevrolet "L" car equipped with 3.1L (RPO LHO) V6 VIN T Engine built prior to the following VIN number: NY211538
Condition
Some owners of 1992 Chevrolet "L" vehicles may experience slight engine surge along with Service Engine Soon light (Code 32), or may have Fuse 9 blown.
Cause
The EGR wiring route may be too close to the ECR valve assembly tube, causing a wiring melt-down.
Correction
Any vehicles experiencing the above condition should follow the following repair procedure:
1) Repair EGR branch wires as needed - refer to the 1992 L-car Service Manual for proper repair procedures.
2) Re-route EGR branch wiring harness lead over and behind other sensor leads and connect to EGR solenoid. See attached illustration.
