Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  2. Remove the sound insulator from inside the vehicle. Refer to Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.
  3. Remove the clutch master cylinder pushrod from the clutch pedal.

  5. Remove the master cylinder retaining nuts at the front of the dash.

  6. Object Number: 100694  Size: SH
  7. Remove the remote reservoir.

  8. Object Number: 100697  Size: SH
  9. Disconnect the clutch actuator cylinder line.

  10. Object Number: 105496  Size: SH
  11. Remove the clutch master cylinder assembly from the clutch actuator cylinder.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the clutch master cylinder assembly to the clutch actuator cylinder.

  2. Object Number: 100705  Size: SH
  3. Connect the clutch actuator cylinder line.

  4. Object Number: 100694  Size: SH
  5. Install the remote reservoir.

  6. Object Number: 100690  Size: SH
  7. Install the master cylinder retaining nuts at the front of the dash.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts evenly to 21 N·m (15 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  9. Install the pushrod to the clutch pedal.
  10. Adjust the cruise control clutch switch, if equipped. Refer to Cruise Control in Body and Accessories.
  11. Install the sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel, Gauges, and Console.
  12. Bleed the hydraulic system. Refer to Hydraulic Clutch Bleeding .
  13. Connect the negative battery cable.
