Customer comments of scratches or damage to clear plastic rear windows on convertible tops can be repaired with a special compound and buffing operation to remove the damage.
Each repair kit, Part Number JG-5A, contains an instruction sheet (reproduced on the back of this bulletin), an abrasive compound, antistatic cream and two buffing cloths for the antistatic material. Each kit contains enough material for 10 to 20 repairs.

EXAMPLE OF KIT INSTRUCTIONS
CONVERTIBLE REAR WINDOW SCRATCH REPAIR -OUTSIDE ONLY
THIS KIT CONTAINS THE FOLlOWING:
1 - 8 oz. BOTTLE -MICRO-GLOSS #5 1 - 4 oz. BOTTLE -FINAL FINISH 2 - BUFFING CLOTHS FOR FINAL FINISH (THESE CLOTHS ARE WASHABLE AND SHOULD BE CLEANED PERIODICALLY FOR USE)
1. CLEAN INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF WINDOW USING GLASS CLEANER AND A CLEAN SOFT CLOTH.
2. TAPE AND MASK AROUND THE OUTSIDE PERIMETER OF WINDOW TO PROTECT SEAMS AND TOP MATERIAL.
3. BUFF OUT ENTIRE WINDOW USING AN 8" BUFFER (APPROX. 2400 RPM) WITH A LAMBSHEARLING PAD AND MICRO GLOSS #5. BE CAREFUL OF HEAT BUILD UP AND DISTORTION OF THE WINDOW.
4. APPLY ADDITIONAL MICRO GLOSS #5 AND REPEAT STEP 3.
5. HAND BUFF THE ENTIRE WINDOW USING THE ENCLOSED CLOTH AND FINAL FINISH.
6. REMOVE TAPE AND MASK AND CLEAN VEHICLE OF ANY REMAINING RESIDUE.
Suggested repair time for this operation is .5 hours.
