OUTSIDE REAR VIEW MIRROR LOSS OF ADJUSTMENT

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1984 Corvette

Comments about the outside rear view mirror not holding adjustment have been received on some early 1984 Corvettes.

In June, 1983, new mirrors were introduced in production, approximately VIN 11000.

The power pack replacement kit should be available in limited quantities approximately February 1, 1984. These kits will eliminate the need to service the entire mirror assembly. The Kit part numbers are:

14083563 LH non-heated 14083565 LH heated 14083564 RH non-heated 14083566 RH heated

The Kits will include installation instructions for service personnel.

Use the appropriate Labour Operation numbers and claim 0.3 hours each side.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
