RATTLE NOISE IN STEER COLUMN LUBRICATE LOCK BOLT W/GREASE

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1984 Vehicles Equipped With Tilt/Telescoping Steering Columns

A rattling noise may be heard in some 1984 Vehicles equipped with Tilt/Telescoping Steering column. This noise is from the lock bolt area and can be repaired by lubricating the lock bolt. Please refer to Figure 1 for lubrication instructions.

Remove: Steering wheel, shaft lock cover, shaft lock, cancelling cam, cancelling cam spring, signal switch, buzzer switch, lock cylinder and lock housing cover as shown in Service Manual.
