HOOD CRACKS REVISED INTAKE MANIFOLD PLENUM

HOOD CRACK/HOOD TO INTAKE MANIFOLD CONTACT

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1985-88 "Y" CAR WITH RPO L98 ENGINE -----------------

Comments may be received that the hood can crack on the subject vehicle if it contacts the forward end of the inlet manifold plenum. This interference condition can be corrected by installing a revised inlet manifold plenum, P/N 10108443.

The hood can be repaired by normal repair procedures. Use woven glass fabric (7oz./ft.2) plus epoxy for the underside of the hood. V out the top side. Fill the crack with a material such as Rigid Flex Filler by Dominion Sure Seal. Stock Number XRF.
