SERVICE MANUAL UPDATE

The 1989 Corvette Service Manual (Section OB-7) and the 1989 GM Maintenance Schedule for passenger cars indicate an incorrect transmission fluid usage P/N 1052951, for the 1989 Corvette equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission.

The correct transmission fluid usage should be (P/N 1052931) Manual Transmission Fluid or equivalent, as indicated in the 1989 Corvette Owners Manual and Service Manual, Section 7B-2.

Use of the incorrect fluid may cause shiftability concerns and/or damage to the transmission.
