CANSPO has released for service a cushion retainer wire service kit, P/N 10153688. On current and past model Corvettes it had been necessary to replace the seat cushion if the retaining wire broke. With the release of this kit simply replace the wire retainer as outlined below:
1. Remove cushion from frame by pushing down on top of cushion and unsnapping wire retainer.
2. Using side cutters remove Hartco C-clips from cushion border wire.
1. Position cushion retaining wire legs onto border wire extensions.
2. Place Hartco clips around cushion retaining and foam cushion border wire. Both sides of clip should be visible. If necessary, pull foam slightly away from border wire.
3. With pliers, crush outer legs of Hartco clip around both cushion wire and legs of retaining wire. Then crush inner leg around wires. Clip should wrap securely around both wires.
4. Reinstall seat cushion to frame by putting cushion retaining wire through hole in frame then pushing down on top of cushion and snapping cushion retaining wire over frame projections.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
