POSSIBLE SQEAKING NOISE

SUBJECT: POSSIBLE SQUEAKING NOISE

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1990 CHEVROLET Y CLUSTER ------------------------

CLUSTERS AFFECTED: 16133431, 16133441, 16133451, 16133461

There may be a squeaking noise in the 1990 Chevy Y cluster caused by friction between the lens and cluster visor. To prevent this noise, the cluster should be checked to insure that it has a lens made of low tint SAN. The part number of the lens, 25084951, has not been changed. If the lens has 25084951-1 SAN moulded on the lower right edge, it doesn't need changed. If the lens reads 25084951-1 PMMA, then it should be replaced with one made of low tint SAN.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
