SUBJECT: RADIO MAY LOSE SOME FUNCTIONS (REMOVE RADIO FUSE AND REINSTALL)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1990 CORVETTE

CONDITION:

---------- The radio may lose one or more functions, or may lock up with no functions, on the 1990 Y-Car. Some of the symptoms may be loss of tape eject, no visible display, no change of function when buttons are pushed, or the radio may just show the time.

CORRECTION:

----------- There is no permanent correction for this condition at this time. It can be temporarily corrected by removing the "radio" fuse for one minute, and then reinstalling. An updated Bulletin will be issued when a service correction has been developed.

This condition has been corrected for 1991.

The radio SHOULD NOT be removed and sent to a repair station for this condition.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
