THIS BULLETIN HAS BEEN REVISED TO INCLUDE A PERMANENT REPAIR PROCEDURE. CORRECTION PROCEDURE AND WARRANTY INFORMATION CHANGED.
---------- The radio may lose one or more functions, or may lock up with no functions, on the 1990-91 Y Car. Some of the symptoms may be: loss of tape eject, no visible display, no change of function when buttons are pushed, or the radio may just show the time.
In addition, for 1990 models only, air conditioning faults may occur at the same time as the radio fault. Correcting the radio will also correct the air conditioning.
----------- Remove radio following Service Manual instructions. Send to your local radio repair station, and note on the repair ticket, "Repair per Delco Electronics Bulletin RD91TBA03".
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
