DELCO BOSE RADIO SPECIAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM

Subject: DELCO BOSE RADIO EXCHANGE PROGRAM

Model and Year: 1991 CORVETTE

To gain helpful needed product feedback on the 1991 Corvette Bose Radio System, a special exchange program is now in effect until August 1, 1991 for warrantable Delco Bose Radio problems.

It is suggested, in order to avoid no-trouble-found situations, that the attached service writers' checklist be completed during repair order write-up with the customer.

Exchange Procedure:

Complete the information necessary to obtain an exchange radio (refer to GSD-774), including a copy of the warranty repair order.

Contact the Corvette Action Center at 1-800-457-8388. Action Center personnel will review information from the GSD-774 and ship an exchange radio prepaid directly to the dealership.

Exchange Return:

Once the radio is exchanged, the removed radio should be returned by U.RS. shipment, and insured for a $500 value. It is important that the returned radio be adequately protected for shipment using the same packaging, along with the completed GSD-774, service writers checklist, and copy of the warranty repair order.

All exchange radios will be sent on a 30 day consignment. Dealers will be billed a $500 core charge if the Bowling Green plant does not receive the exchange unit within 30 days of their shipment to your dealership.

Returned parts should be sent to:

CPC Bowling Green General Motors Corporation 600 Corvette Drive Bowling Green, KY 42102-4925 Attn: Ed O'Keefe - Salvage Department

Warranty Claim Information:

Dealer is to submit a Chevrolet warranty claim for the removal and replacement of the unit, along with freight and insurance charges. Refer to the Chevrolet Claims Processing Manual for details on claim submission.

This special exchange bulletin should be filed in the Special Exchange Policy Procedures Manual previously furnished to dealers.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
