This bulletin cancels and replaces Corporate Bulletin Number 72-05-08B.
Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 72-05-08B (Section 00 --
Warranty Administration).
The following items can be serviced and are available from
General Motors Service Parts Operations (GMSPO). Repair procedures for the
1996 model year are in SI2000. For other model years, refer to the appropriate
Service Manual.

| • | Mainshaft Rear Oil Seal |
| • | Reverse Idler Gear Cover Gasket |
| • | Main Drive Gear Bearing Retainer and Gasket |
| • | Main Drive Gear Bearing Retainer Tube and Seals |
| • | Backup Lamp Switch Replacement |
| • | Computer Aided Gear Select Solenoid |
For transmission concerns beyond those listed above, there are three
current processes available:
| • | Remanufactured transmissions are available through GMSPO. Refer
to the GMSPO Parts Catalog for the applicable part numbers and procedures.
GMSPO does not provide internal parts for this transmission. GMSPO will charge
a core charge in addition to the cost of the transmission assembly. Full,
partial or no core credit will be issued by GMSPO after the core is inspected. |
| • | For customers who want their original transmission to be repaired
instead of using a GMSPO service assembly, the dealer may contact ZF of North
America to arrange for such repairs. Contact ZF of North America at 1-847-478-6771,
or fax at 1-847-478-6774 for additional information. The dealer or customer
must obtain a return authorization number from ZF before sending in the transmission. |
| • | ZF of North America is creating a network of authorized distributors
that can supply internal transmission parts. These distributors may also be
trained and authorized by ZF to repair transmissions. For distributor locations
