SUBJECT: ROOF PANEL ATTACHING BOLT RATTLES (INSTALL NEW RETAINER/SILENCER/BOLT)

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1986-92 "Y" MODEL

APPLICATION:

----------- 1986-92 Corvette.

CONDITION:

--------- Roof panel attaching bolts rattle.

CAUSE:

----- Retainer assembly may allow the bolt to rattle.

CORRECTION:

---------- The new roof attaching bolt retainer P/N 10193699 must be used with the new silencer P/N 10218584 which holds the bolt in the retainer.

Prior to installing the new retainer, insert the bolt into the silencer and then install this assembly into the retainer cavity.

Install the new retainer/silencer/bolt assembly on the vehicle using the procedure found in Section 1O-9A-5 of the 1992 Corvette Service Manual.

For vehicles repaired under warranty use:

Labour Time: 0.6 Hr.
