DOOR TRIM CONTACT I/P REPOSITION DOOR TRIM PAD)

BULLETIN BEING REVISED TO CHANGE T-OP NUMBER T-3427 (PREVIOUSLY RELEASED ON A DIFFERENT BULLETIN) TO T-3460. PLEASE DISCARD BULLETIN 431004. ----------------------------------------------------------------------

SUBJECT: DOOR TRIM CONTACTS INSTRUMENT PANEL (REPOSITION DOOR TRIM PAD)

MODELS: 1994 CHEVROLET CORVETTE

CONDITION:

SOME OWNERS MAY COMMENT THAT THE LEFT AND/OR RIGHT DOOR TRIM CONTACTS INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P).

CORRECTION:

LEFT AND/OR RIGHT DOOR TRIM:

1. LOWER DOOR WINDOW GLASS.

2. REMOVE COURTESY LAMP FROM BEZEL AND SCREWS THAT RETAIN BEZEL, BUT **DO NOT** REMOVE BEZEL.

3. REMOVE SCREWS FROM ARMREST FILLER, BUT **DO NOT** REMOVE FILLER.

4. REMOVE FASTENERS RETAINING TRIM PAD AT BOTTOM OF DOOR.

5. REPOSITION TRIM PANEL REARWARD UNTIL FLUSH WITH DOOR INNER PANEL.

NOTE: IT MAY BE NECESSARY TO LOOSEN AND REPOSITION THE INSERT TO MOVE TRIM REARWARD.

INSTRUMENT PANEL LEFT SIDE:

1. REMOVE LOWER LEFT I/P CLUSTER BEZEL SCREW (SEE FIGURE 1).

2. CAREFULLY LIFT EDGE OF BEZEL AND ROTATE "U" NUT OUT OF ADJACENT LOCATING SLOT ON I/P CARRIER.

3. REPOSITION BEZEL SO THAT LOCATING RIDGE ON UNDERSIDE FITS INTO LOCATING SLOT ON I/P CARRIER AND REINSTALL SCREW.

NOTE: WHEN REINSTALLING SCREW, SLIGHTLY PUSH DOWN ON BEZEL NEAR SCREW TO INSURE NUT DOES NOT ROTATE INTO LOCATING SLOT WHEN TIGHTENING SCREW.

INSTRUMENT PANEL RIGHT SIDE

1. REMOVE FUSE PANEL COVER AND THE THREE (3) SCREWS SECURING I/P SIDE TRIM PANEL.

2. REPOSITION SIDE TRIM PANEL FORWARD AND REINSTALL SCREWS.

NOTE: WHEN REPOSITIONING TRIM PANEL FORWARD "DO NOT" CREATE A GAP TO I/P OR LOWER TRIM PAD.

WARRANTY INFORMATION:

FOR VEHICLES REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY, USE: LABOR OPERATION: T-3426 LEFT SIDE; T-3460 RIGHT SIDE; T-3428 BOTH LABOR TIME: 0.4 HR. 0.4 HR. 0.7 HR.
