Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 23907 Clutch Pilot Bearing Remover

Notice: Do not use grease under pressure to force the pilot bearing from the crankshaft.

Important: 

   • Use care when removing the clutch pilot bearing.
   • One of the following conditions may be the cause of the clutch pilot bearing failure:
      - Improper clutch housing alignment
      - Eccentricity in the transmission input shaft

  1. Remove the flywheel. Refer to Engine Flywheel Replacement in Engine Mechanical.

  2. Object Number: 14305  Size: SH
  3. Use the J 23907 in order to remove the clutch pilot bearing.
  4. Inspect the crankshaft for scoring and burrs.

Installation Procedure

J 38836 Pilot Bushing Installer/Clutch Alignment Arbor


    Object Number: 14967  Size: SH
  1. Use the J 38836 in order to install the clutch pilot bearing.
  2. Install the flywheel. Refer to Engine Flywheel Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
