Removal Procedure

J 38185 Spring Hose Clamp Pliers

    Notice: When adding coolant, use DEX-COOL® coolant. If silicated coolant is added to the system, premature engine, heater core or radiator corrosion may result. In addition, the engine coolant will require change sooner-at 50 000 km (30,000 mi) or 24 months.


    Object Number: 12062  Size: SH
  1. Remove the upper radiator support. Refer to Section 10A.
  2. Drain the coolant from the radiator. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

  3. Object Number: 12064  Size: SH
  4. Remove the radiator upper and lower hose clamps and hoses.

  5. Object Number: 3912  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the transmission oil cooler outlet and inlet pipes (Automatic transmission only).
  7. Remove the radiator from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the radiator.

  2. Object Number: 12064  Size: SH
  3. Install the radiator inlet and outlet hoses and clamps.

  4. Object Number: 12063  Size: SH
  5. Install the transmission oil cooler outlet and inlet pipes (Automatic transmission only).

  6. Object Number: 12062  Size: SH
  7. Install the radiator upper support. Refer to Section 10A.
  8. Refill the radiator to the proper coolant level. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  9. Start the engine. Check for coolant leaks.
