Removal Procedure

J 38185 Spring Hose Clamp Pliers

    Notice: When adding coolant, use DEX-COOL® coolant. If silicated coolant is added to the system, premature engine, heater core or radiator corrosion may result. In addition, the engine coolant will require change sooner-at 50 000 km (30,000 mi) or 24 months.

  1. Drain the coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

  2. Object Number: 11672  Size: SH
  3. Remove the clip that retains the throttle body hose to the radiator upper support.
  4. Remove the hose and clamp from the throttle body.

  5. Object Number: 11673  Size: SH
  6. Remove the clamps from the throttle body radiator surge tank air bleed and overflow hoses.

  7. Object Number: 11674  Size: SH
  8. Remove the screws that retain the radiator surge tank air bleed and overflow hoses to the center wheelhouse panel.
  9. Remove the throttle body coolant hose.
  10. Before reinstalling the hose, clean the hose fittings.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 11672  Size: SH
  1. Connect the coolant hose and clamp to the throttle body.

  2. Object Number: 11673  Size: SH
  3. Connect the radiator surge tank air bleed and overflow hoses and clamps.

  4. Object Number: 11674  Size: SH
  5. Install the screws that retain the radiator surge tank air bleed and overflow hoses to the center wheelhouse panel.
  6. Install throttle body hose to the clip on the upper radiator support.
  7. Refill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  8. Start the engine. Check for any coolant leaks.
