Removal Procedure
  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Section 0A.
  2. Remove the exhaust system. Refer to General Exhaust System Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 13871 Size: SH
  3. Remove the bolts from the right hand brace to the TWC.

    4. Object Number: 13873 Size: SH
  4. Remove the bolt and the stud to the left-hand TWC brace-to-clutch housing.

    5. Object Number: 13860 Size: SH
  5. Remove the TWC nuts to the exhaust manifold.
  6. Remove the TWCs.

    7. Object Number: 13875 Size: SH
  7. Remove the studs to the left-hand TWC brace to the TWC.
  8. Remove the left hand brace to the TWC.

    9. Object Number: 13873 Size: SH
  9. Remove the bolts to the right-hand TWC brace-to-clutch housing.
  10. Remove the right-hand TWC brace.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 13873 Size: SH
  1. Install the right-hand TWC brace.
  2. Install the bolts to the right-hand TWC brace-to-clutch housing.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the left-hand TWC brace.
  4. Install the studs to the left-hand TWC brace.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the studs to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).


    Object Number: 13860 Size: SH
  5. Install the TWCs.
  6. Install the TWC nuts to the exhaust manifold.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).


    Object Number: 13873 Size: SH
  7. Install the bolt and the stud to the left-hand TWC brace-to-clutch housing.

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).


    Object Number: 13871 Size: SH
  8. Install the bolts to the right-hand TWC brace.

    9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  9. Install the exhaust system. Refer to General Exhaust System Replacement .
  10. Lower the vehicle.
