Removal Procedure
- Remove the fluid level indicator.
- Raise the vehicle. Refer to Section 0A.
- Support the vehicle with safety stands.
- Remove the bolt retaining the fill tube to the transmission.
- Loosen the tube from the transmission.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Pull the tube out of the vehicle from the top.
- Remove the fill tube seal.
Installation Procedure
- Install the seal.
- Install the fill tube.
- Raise the vehicle. Refer to Section 0A.
- Support the vehicle with safety stands.
- Locate the fill tube onto the transmission.
- Install the fill tube bolt to the transmission.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the fluid level indicator.
- Check the fluid level. Refer to Transmission Fluid Check .
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
