New terms now describe how this service manual is constructed. These terms come from the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Standard Practice J2008. Examples of these new terms and the previous terms are stated in the following table.

How to Find Service Categories
The starting page number of each Service Category is in the Table of Contents near the beginning of the service manual, or in the Table of Contents at the beginning of each Service Category Type.
The following table gives the previous service manual sub-sections with the name of the new service category type and service category. Almost all of the diagnosis that was in section 8A is now located in its applicable service category.

Improvements Made
This service manual provides many more illustrations than in earlier manuals. Illustrations serve as the primary source for repair procedures. These illustrations will be supplemented with text descriptions. In the previous service manuals, text was the primary source of information for repair procedures and illustrations provided support.
Repair procedures, illustrations, and the descriptive text have been arranged so that they will correspond with the way you work. This manual provides disassembled views, wherever possible, so that it will be easy to look up parts, names, and order of assembly. The text descriptions have been rewritten into simple, complete sentences.
