Subject: | Unable to Program to the Central Control Module (CCM) |

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.
The following process should be used to program a service (replacement) Central Control Module (CCM) on a 1996 Corvette. It may be found that the option F0 : PROGRAM CCM is not available on the Tech I.
The vehicle must be built as a 1995 model (instead of a 1996). Then, follow the setup procedure below:
NOTE: The Vehicle Interface Module (VIM) must be present and able to communicate with the PCM to retrieve the VIN. After retrieving the VIN, the Tech I will display an option of "REQUEST INFO". This option is not present until the VIN has been retrieved from the PCM. If a Tech I user tries to see the CCM selections from a desktop test demonstration of the Tech I, they will think the Tech I does not offer this selection. The Tech I will only retrieve this information and thus display this selection once connected to a 1996 YB. This is a difference from a 1995 YB and earlier models where the selection can be seen without serial data inputs to the Tech I. Only Tech I with "SERVICE PROGRAMMING" software can be used.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
