Disassembly Procedure

Important: The internal parts of the oil pump assembly are not serviced separately (excluding the spring). If the oil pump components are worn or damaged, replace the oil pump as an assembly.

  1. Remove the oil pump cover bolts.

  2. Object Number: 65057  Size: SH
  3. Remove the oil pump cover.

  4. Object Number: 65058  Size: SH

    Important: Mark or identify the gears for assembly.

    Refer to Separating Parts .

  5. Remove the drive gear.

  6. Object Number: 65060  Size: SH
  7. Remove the driven gear.

  8. Object Number: 65064  Size: SH
  9. Remove the regulator valve plug.

  10. Object Number: 65068  Size: SH
  11. Remove the regulator valve spring.

  12. Object Number: 65076  Size: SH
  13. Remove the regulator valve.
  14. Inspect the oil pump components.
  15. Refer to Oil Pump Clean and Inspect .

Assembly Procedure


    Object Number: 65060  Size: SH

    Important: Prior to assembling the oil pump, coat all wear or internal surfaces with clean engine oil.

    Install the beveled edge of the driven gear away from the cover.

    Note the gear orientation marks and install the gears in the proper direction.

  1. Install the driven gear into the pump housing.

    Important: Note the gear orientation marks and install the gears in the proper direction.

  3. Install the drive gear into the pump housing.

  4. Object Number: 65057  Size: SH
  5. Install the oil pump cover.

  6. Object Number: 65055  Size: SH
  7. Install the pump cover bolts.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the oil pump cover bolts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  9. Install the regulator valve.

  10. Object Number: 65068  Size: SH
  11. Install a NEW regulator valve spring.

  12. Object Number: 65064  Size: SH
  13. Install the regulator valve plug.
  14. Tighten
    Tighten the regulator valve plug to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  15. Inspect the oil pump for smoothness of operation by rotating the drive gear.
