Removal Procedure (Air Filter Element)


    Object Number: 66244  Size: SH
  1. Release the retaining strap latchs.
  2. Pull out the air filter element.
  3. Inspect the air filter element for dust, dirt, or water. Clean or replace the air filter element if required. Refer to General Information .

Installation Procedure (Air Filter Element)


    Object Number: 66244  Size: SH
  1. Install the air filter element into the air cleaner housing.
  2. Secure the retaining strap latchs.

Removal Procedure (Air Filter Assembly)

    Notice: If the mass air flow (MAF) sensor is installed backwards, the system will go rich. An arrow cast into the plastic portion of the sensor indicates proper air flow direction. The arrow must point toward the engine.

  1. Remove the fasteners from the air cleaner duct assembly.

  2. Object Number: 66244  Size: SH
  3. Remove the clamp from the inter air intake duct.
  4. Remove the air intake duct from the air cleaner assembly.
  5. Remove the air cleaner assembly from the upper radiator support.

Installation Procedure (Air Filter Assembly)


    Object Number: 66244  Size: SH

    Notice: Verify that the radiator air deflector is in position before installing an air cleaner assembly. Improper installation may allow water intrusion which could damage the engine.

  1. Install the fasteners to the air cleaner assembly.
  2. Position the air cleaner assembly to the upper radiator support.
  3. Secure the air cleaner assembly to the radiator support.
  4. Connect the clamp assembly to the front of the inter air intake duct and install on air cleaner duct assembly. Force the duct forward until the duct assembly flange contacts the forward edge of the duct, air cleaner assembly.
