Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 74059  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  3. Raise the vehicle and support. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  4. Remove the intermediate pipe assembly. Refer to Intermediate Pipe .

  5. Object Number: 67894  Size: SH
  6. Remove the closeout panel bolts.
  7. Remove the closeout panel.

  8. Object Number: 64012  Size: SH
  9. Drill out the heat shield rivets.
  10. Remove the heat shield.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 64012  Size: SH
  1. Install the heat shield.
  2. Install the heat shield rivets.

  3. Object Number: 67894  Size: SH
  4. Install the closeout panel.
  5. Install the closeout panel bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the closeout bolts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  7. Install the intermediate pipe assembly. Refer to Intermediate Pipe .
  8. Lower the vehicle.
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the negative battery cable bolt to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).
