Cupped Tires

Action

Refer to

The front or the rear wheel alignment.

  1. Check the alignment.
  2. Perform an alignment.

The upper or the lower ball joints are worn.

Replace as needed.

Excessive toe-in/toe-out.

  1. Check the toe-in/toe-out.
  2. Perfrom an alignment.

Refer to Toe Adjustment in Wheel Alignment.

The tire rod end is worn.

Replace as needed.

Refer to Outer Tie Rod End in Power Steering System or Rear Axle Tie Rod in Rear Suspension.

The tires are improperly rotated.

  1. Inspect the tire(s).
  2. Service the tire(s) and/or replace as needed.

Refer to Tire Mounting and Dismounting in Tires and Wheels.

The tire pressure is low.

Inflate the tire(s) to proper specifications.

Refer to Tire Inflation Pressure Specifications in Maintenace and Lubrication.

The tire or wheel has excessive runout.

  1. Inspect the components.
  2. Perform an alignment.
