Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 63958  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the brake fluid level switch.

  2. Object Number: 63961  Size: SH
  3. If the master cylinder is being removed, disconnect the brake pipes from the master cylinder.
  4. Plug the brake pipes to prevent contamination.

  5. Object Number: 63941  Size: SH
  6. Remove the master cylinder nuts.
  7. Remove the master cylinder from the brake booster.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 63941  Size: SH
  1. Install the master cylinder to the brake booster.
  2. Install the master cylinder nuts.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the master cylinder nuts to 29 N·m (21 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Connect the brake pipes to the master cylinder, if previously removed.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the brake pipe to the master cylinder tube nuts to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  6. Connect the electrical connector to the brake fluid level switch.
  7. Refill the master cylinder reservoir.
  8. If the brake pipes were removed, bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Manual Brake System Bleeding .
