The master cylinder reservoir is made of a translucent plastic that allows the brake fluid level to be checked at a glance. The receiver has individual sections for the primary pressure chamber, also the ABS/TCS modulator valve. The reservoir cap is made of plastic and has a replaceable rubber diaphragm.
Battery voltage is applied to the Brake Warning Lamp when the Ignition Switch is in RUN or START position. Ground to the Brake Warning Lamp is supplied through the Parking Brake and the Brake Fluid Level Switch. When any or both of these switches are closed and the Ignition Switch is in RUN or Start position, the Brake Warning lights up. The Brake Fluid Level Switch normally closes when the Brake Fluid runs low. The Parking Brake Switch normally closes when the Parking Brakes are applied. On the Canadian cars, when the Parking Brake Switch is closed, a signal is supplied to the Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) module to turn off the DRL.
