Disable Procedure
- Raise the vehicle and support. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
- Remove the rear tire and wheel assembly.
- Disconnect the park brake cable from the apply lever.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Reposition carpet away from park brake handle.
- With the assistance of another technician, pull the disconnected park brake cable downward until it is fully extended and install a rivet, drill bit, zip tie or cotter key through the lined up holes in the park brake lever. Do not overextend the cable.
