Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 64008  Size: SH
  1. Remove the rear brake rotor. Refer to Rotor in Disc Brakes.
  2. Rotate the parking brake adjuster nut until the bolt is in the closed position.
  3. Remove the parking brake shoe retaining spring.

  4. Object Number: 64007  Size: SH
  5. Remove the parking brake shoe.

  6. Object Number: 64006  Size: SH
  7. Remove the abutment plate mounting bolts. Two rearward hub mounting bolts.
  8. Remove the abutment plate assembly from the dust shield.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 64006  Size: SH
  1. Apply grease to positions 1 and 2. Do not apply grease to position 3.
  2. Install the abutment plate to the dust shield.
  3. Install the abutment plate mounting bolts. Two rearward hub mounting bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the abutment plate mounting bolts to 70 N·m (52 lb ft). Refer to

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the parking brake shoe.

  6. Object Number: 64008  Size: SH
  7. Install the parking brake shoe retaining spring.
  8. Adjust the parking brake. Refer to Rear Parking Brake Shoe and Lining Adjustment .
  9. Install the brake rotor. Refer to Rotor in Disc Brakes.
