Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 14464 Size: SH
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the transmission oil pan and filter. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid and Filter Replacement .
  3. Remove the accumulator cover bolts.

  4. Remove the 1-2 accumulator cover.
  5. Remove the 1-2 accumulator piston.
  6. Remove the 1-2 accumulator inner and outer springs.

  7. Disconnect the component electrical connectors.
  8. Remove the pressure control solenoid retainer bolt.

    9. Object Number: 13880 Size: SH
  9. Remove the pressure control solenoid retainer and the pressure control solenoid.

    10. Object Number: 13884 Size: SH
  10. Remove the shift solenoid retainers.

    11. Object Number: 13364 Size: SH
  11. Remove the shift solenoids.

    12. Object Number: 13365 Size: SH
  12. Remove the 3-2 control solenoid retainer.

    13. Object Number: 13886 Size: SH
  13. Remove the 3-2 control solenoid.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 13886 Size: SH
  1. Install the 3-2 control solenoid.

    2. Object Number: 13365 Size: SH
  2. Install the 3-2 control solenoid retainer.

    3. Object Number: 13364 Size: SH
  3. Install the shift solenoids.

    4. Object Number: 13884 Size: SH
  4. Install the shift solenoid retainers.

    5. Object Number: 13883 Size: SH
  5. Install the pressure control solenoid.

    6. Ensure that the electrical tabs are facing outboard.


    Object Number: 13880 Size: SH
  6. Install the pressure control solenoid retainer.

    7. Object Number: 13876 Size: SH
  7. Install the pressure control solenoid retaining bolt.

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the pressure control solenoid retaining bolt to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Connect the component electrical connectors.
  9. Install the 1-2 accumulator inner and outer springs to the piston.
  10. Install the 1-2 accumulator piston (with springs) to the accumulator cover.

    11. Ensure that the piston legs face toward the accumulator cover.

  11. Install the 1-2 accumulator cover and bolts.

    12. Tighten
    Tighten the 1-2 accumulator cover bolts to 11 N·m (97 lb in).

  12. Install the transmission oil pan and filter. Refer to Automatic Transmission Fluid and Filter Replacement .
  13. Lower the vehicle.
