    Object Number: 106001 Size: SH

Important: Use power steering fluid GM Part #12345866 (or equivalent meeting GM Specification #9985010) to flush and bleed the power steering system including the following components:

       • Flush and bleed the hoses.
       • Flush and bleed the reservoir.
       • Flush and bleed the cooler lines.

  1. Inspect the lines for the following damage and replace as needed:
  2. • Inspect for cracks.
    • Inspect for dents.
    • Inspect for damage to the threads.
  3. Install new O-ring seals (2) and (4) onto the cylinder line valve ends.
  4. Install the cylinder line assemblies (1) and (3) to the gear assembly (5).
  5. Tighten

        • Tighten the cylinder line valve end fittings to 16.9 N·m (13 lb ft).
        • Tighten the cylinder line end fittings to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
