Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery. Refer to

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  2. Remove the center instrument panel accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  3. Remove the drivers knee bolster trim panel. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Panel Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  5. Unclip the sensor from the drivers knee bolster trim panel.

Installation Procedure

  1. Clip the sensor into the drivers knee bolster trim panel.
  2. Connect the electrical connector.

  3. Object Number: 186356  Size: SH
  4. Align the sensor with the aspirator rear duct, as the drivers knee bolster trim panel is being installed onto the I/P.
  5. Important: The inside air temperature sensor must be aligned with and fit over the end of the aspirator rear duct.

  6. Install the drivers knee bolster trim panel. Refer to Driver Knee Bolster Panel Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  7. Install the center instrument panel accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  8. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to
