Caution: To help avoid personal injury from unrepaired crash damage to a restraint system, perform the seat belt check for each seat belt system. Replace the seat belt system if there is any doubt about the condition of system components.

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 71202  Size: SH
  1. Remove the roof bow center interior trim panel. Refer to Rear Roof Bow Trim Panel Replacement in Exterior/Interior Trim.

  2. Object Number: 63763  Size: SH
  3. Uncover the upper guide bolt by pushing up at the belt edge of the cover and flipping up the cover.
  4. Remove the upper guide bolt.

  5. Object Number: 71203  Size: SH
  6. Remove the rear compartment side trim panel from the roof bow. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Panel in Exterior/Interior Trim.

  7. Object Number: 71211  Size: SH
  8. Remove the side sill trim plate. Refer to Sill Plate in Exterior/Interior Trim.

  9. Object Number: 71212  Size: SH
  10. Remove the lock pillar trim panel. Refer to Body Lock Pillar Trim Panel Replacement in Exterior/Interior Trim.

  11. Object Number: 63763  Size: SH
  12. Remove the bolt, mounting the upper retractor.
  13. Remove the bolt, mounting the lower retractor.
  14. Remove the retractor side of the seat belt.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 63763  Size: SH
  1. Install the upper retractor and attaching bolt.
  2. Install the lower retractor and attaching bolt.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the retractor attaching bolts to 46 N·m (34 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the lock pillar trim panel. Refer to Body Lock Pillar Trim Panel Replacement in Exterior/Interior Trim.

  5. Object Number: 71203  Size: SH
  6. Install the rear compartment side trim panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Panel in Exterior/Interior Trim.

  7. Object Number: 63763  Size: SH
  8. Install the upper guide bolt and cover.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the upper guide bolt to 46 N·m (34 lb ft).

  10. Snap the cover closed.

  11. Object Number: 71202  Size: SH
  12. Install the roof bow center interior trim panel. Refer To Rear Roof Bow Trim Panel Replacement in Exterior/Interior Trim.

  13. Object Number: 71211  Size: SH
  14. Install the side sill trim plate. Refer to Rear Compartment Side Trim Panel in Exterior/Interior Trim.
