Backup Lamp Replacement Assembly
Removal Procedure
- Remove the rear license frame.
Carefully depress the locking tabs with a flat-bladed screwdriver.
- Remove the rear license plate.
- Remove the backup lamp assembly (w/ rear license bracket) retaining
screws.
- Partially remove the backup lamp assembly to expose the backup
lamp sockets.
- Remove the backup lamp sockets from the backup lamp assembly.
- Remove the backup lamp assembly (w/ rear license bracket) from
the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
- Install the backup lamp sockets to the backup lamp assembly (w/ rear license
bracket).
- Install the backup lamp assembly into position on the vehicle.
- Install the backup lamp assembly (w/ rear license bracket) retaining
screws.
Tighten
Tighten the backup lamp assembly (w/ rear license bracket) retaining
screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the rear license plate.
- Install the rear license frame.
Align the locking tabs, then push to lock.
Backup Lamp Replacement Bulb
Removal Procedure
- Remove the nearest inner taillamp. Refer to
Tail Lamp Replacement
.
Access the backup lamp through the taillamp opening.
- Remove the backup lamp socket from the backup lamp assembly.
- Remove the bulb from the socket.
Installation Procedure
- Install the bulb to the backup lamp socket.
- Install the backup lamp socket to the backup lamp assembly.
