Using a scan tool, check for either DTC B2578 or B2583 stored in the BCM memory.

Are either of these codes stored in memory?

 

Go to applicable diagnostic table

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the hazard warning switch connector.
  2. Connect a DMM between the hazard warning switch connector terminal C and ground.
  3. Measure the voltage available at the connector.

Is the voltage within the specified values?

10.0-14.0V

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 4

Check the HAZ T/SG MiniFuse® #15 for an open circuit.

Is the fuse open?

 

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

Repair a short to ground in CKT 1739.

Is the repair complete?

Repair a poor connection or an open in CKT 1739.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the connector C209.
  2. Connect a DMM between the hazard warning switch connector terminal H and connector C209 terminal D.
  3. Measure CKT 16 for continuity between these two connector terminals.

Is continuity present in CKT 16 between these two connectors?

Repair the open in CKT 16.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Reconnect the hazard warning switch connector.
  2. Connect a DMM between the connector C209 terminal D and ground.
  3. Measure the available voltage at C209 terminal D.

Is the voltage within the specified values?

10.0-14.0V

Replace the hazard warning switch .

Is the repair complete?

Replace the turn signal switch.
