No Radio and No Sound From Speakers

  1. Disconnect the Radio connector C1.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  3. Connect a DMM between the radio connector C1 terminal 10 and ground.
  4. Measure the voltage at the radio connector C1 terminal 10 and ground with the ignition switch ON.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10.0 -14.0V

Go to Step 3

Using a DMM, measure the voltage between the radio connector C1 terminal 10 and terminal 5.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10.0 -14.0V

Go to Step 4

  1. Reconnect all radio connectors.
  2. Disconnect the Bose® Relay #15.
  3. Connect a DMM between the terminal 85 of the instrument panel electrical center and ground.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  5. Turn the radio to the ON position.
  6. Measure the voltage between terminal 85 of the instrument panel electrical center and ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10.0 -14.0V

Go to Step 5

  1. Disconnect the Bose® Processor connector.
  2. Connect a DMM between the Bose® Processor connector terminal A8 and ground.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  4. Turn the radio to the ON position.
  5. Measure the voltage between the Bose® Processor connector terminal A8 and ground.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10.0 -14.0V

Go to Step 6

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the radio connector C2.
  3. Disconnect the compact disc player connector.
  4. Connect a DMM between the radio connector terminal 15 and ground.
  5. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  6. Check the radio connector C2 terminal 15 for a short to battery power.

Is CKT 835 shorted to battery power?

Repair a poor connection or an open in CKT 145 between the radio connector C1 terminal 8 and the Bose® Relay #15 or the Bose® Signal Processor.

Is the repair complete?

Repair a poor connection or an open in CKT 440 between the radio connector C1 and the instrument panel electrical center.

Is the repair complete?

Repair a poor connection or an open in circuit 351 between the radio connector C1 and G201.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. DMM is still connected between the radio connector terminal 15 and ground.
  3. Measure the resistance between the radio connector C2 terminal 15 and ground.

Is the resistance to ground infinite?

Repair a short to battery power in CKT 835.
