DEFINITION: The UTD system will not ARM or DISARM properly.

  1. Turn OFF the ignition switch.
  2. Open the driver or passenger door.
  3. Press the driver or passenger power door lock switch.
  4. Close both the driver and passenger doors (UTD System is now ARMED).

Does the UTD system ARM properly?

Disarm the UTD system by Inserting the door key into the driver or passenger door lock cylinder and rotate it to the unlock position.

Does the UTD system DISARM properly?

Go to Step 8

Disarm the UTD system by pressing the UNLOCK button in the remote transmitter or by walking into range with the passive switch ON.

Does the UTD system DISARM properly?

Go to DCM Diagnostic System Check

Using a scan tool, try to establish communications with the BCM, LDCM, RDCM, and RFA systems.

Can the scan tool communicate with the BCM, LDCM, RDCM, and RFA systems?

  1. Turn OFF the ignition switch.
  2. Close the driver and passenger doors.
  3. Press the LOCK button on the remote transmitter or walk out of range with the passive switch ON.

Does the UTD system ARM properly?

Repair the no communication malfunction to the system that could not communicate with the scan tool. Refer to the appropriate Diagnostic System Check that applies to that system.

Inspect the following circuits for an intermittent malfunction

    • Driver door ajar switch
    • Passenger door ajar switch.
    • Intermittent communications between the BCM, RDCM, LDCM, or RFA systems.
    • Power door lock switches.
    • Door lock cylinder switches.
    • Hood ajar switch (export only).

Was a problem found and repaired?

Go to Step 10

System OK

  1. Replace the BCM. Refer to BCM Replacement.
  2. Program the BCM. Refer to BCM Programming/RPO Configuration.

Is the replacement complete?

Go to Step 10

  1. Turn OFF the ignition switch.
  2. Reconnect or install any connectors or components that were disconnected or removed.
  3. Turn ON the ignition switch.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK
