Removal Procedure
- Raise vehicle and suitably support. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
- Remove the bolts attaching the filler panel to the frame rail.
- Remove the bolt attaching the filler panel to the lower fender flange.
- Remove the bolts attaching the fender wheel opening flange to the filler panel.
- Remove the bolts attaching the filler panel to the wheelhouse panel.
- Remove the filler panel.
Installation Procedure
- Position the filler panel over the wheelhouse panel and behind the fender wheel opening flange.
- Install the bolts attaching the filler panel to the wheelhouse panel.
- Install the bolts attaching the fender wheel opening to the filler panel.
- Install the bolts attaching the filler panel to frame rail bolts.
- Install the filler panel to the lower fender flange bolt.
- Lower the vehicle.
Tighten
Tighten the filler panel to the wheelhouse bolts to 10 N·m
(89 lb in).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the fender wheel opening to the filler panel bolts to 1.9 N·m
(17 lb in).
Tighten
Tighten the filler panel to frame rail bolts to 1.9 N·m
(17 lb in).
Tighten
Tighten the filler panel to the lower fender flange bolt to 1.9 N·m
(17 lb in).
