Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 71255  Size: SH
  1. Remove the front fender. Refer to Fender Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 71272  Size: SH
  3. Remove the bolts attaching the hood stop bracket to the hood stop. On the passenger side one of the bolts also attaches to the plenum bracket.

  4. Object Number: 71273  Size: SH
  5. Remove the bolts attaching the hood stop bracket to the hinge pillar.

  6. Object Number: 71274  Size: SH
  7. Transfer the hood bumper if necessary.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 71273  Size: SH
  1. Install the hood stop bracket to the hinge pillar.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the hood stop bracket bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the hood stop (and the plenum bracket on the passenger side) to the hood stop bracket.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the hood stop bracket bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).


    Object Number: 71274  Size: SH
  5. Install the hood bumper.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the hood bumper jam nut to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  7. Install the fender. Refer to Fender Replacement .
