Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 63818 Size: SH
  1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement .

    2. Object Number: 63790 Size: SH
  2. Remove the water deflector.

    3. Object Number: 63823 Size: SH
  3. Reconnect the power window switch to the wire harness and raise the door window.
  4. Disconnect the switch.

    5. Object Number: 63831 Size: SH
  5. Disconnet the outside handle lock cylinder rod from the lock cylinder lever.

    6. Object Number: 63825 Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the lock.
  7. Disconnect the outside handle opening rod from the door lock using a water hose removal tool to open the clip.
  8. Remove the screws from the door lock.

  9. Remove the Inside door handle. Refer to Door Inside Handle Replacement .

    10. Object Number: 63828 Size: SH
  10. Unclip the rods from the inside handle and the door anti rattle retainer.

    11. Object Number: 63829 Size: SH
  11. Remove the door lock with the inside handle and the outside handle opening rods attached.
  12. Remove the rods if not reusing the lock. Note the position of each rod.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 63829 Size: SH
  1. Install the inside door handle rods and the lock cylinder rod to the door lock.

    2. Object Number: 63825 Size: SH
  2. Position the door lock to the inside of the door.
  3. Install the door lock upper screw.
  4. Install the door lock lower screw and the outboard screw.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the door lock screws to 10 N·m 89 lb in.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Connect the lock cylinder rod to the outside handle lock cylinder lever.
  6. Connect the outside handle opening rod to the door lock.

    7. Object Number: 63825 Size: SH
  7. Connect the electrical connectors.

    8. Object Number: 63828 Size: SH
  8. Connect the rods to the inside handle.

    9. Object Number: 63827 Size: SH
  9. Install the inside door handle.
  10. Snap the inside handle rods, at the black line on the rod sleeve, into the door anti-rattle clip.

    11. Object Number: 63790 Size: SH
  11. Install the water deflector.

    12. Object Number: 63823 Size: SH
  12. Connect the power window switch and lower the door window.
  13. Disconnect the power window switch.

    14. Object Number: 63818 Size: SH
  14. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Door Trim Panel Replacement .
