Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 71250  Size: SH
  1. Remove the rear tire and wheel. Refer to Wheel Removal in Tires and Wheels.
  2. Remove the wheelhouse liner panel. Refer to Rear Wheelhouse Liner Panel .

  3. Object Number: 71227  Size: SH
  4. Remove the nut from fuel door release cable.

  5. Object Number: 71225  Size: SH
  6. Remove the fuel filler door. Refer to Fuel Tank Filler Door Replacement .

  7. Object Number: 71230  Size: SH
  8. Remove the screws mounting the fuel pocket.

  9. Object Number: 71231  Size: SH
  10. Remove the fuel cap.
  11. Remove the screws and the filler neck from the pocket.

  12. Object Number: 71230  Size: SH
  13. Remove the fuel filler pocket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 71230  Size: SH
  1. Position the pocket.

  2. Object Number: 71231  Size: SH
  3. Install the screws attaching the filler neck to the pocket.
  4. Install the fuel cap.

  5. Object Number: 71230  Size: SH
  6. Install the bolts attaching the fuel pocket.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel filler pocket bolts to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Install the fuel filler door. Refer to Fuel Tank Filler Door Replacement .

  9. Object Number: 71227  Size: SH
  10. Install the nut attaching the fuel door release cable to the pocket.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the release cable nut to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  12. Install the wheelhouse panel liner. Refer to Rear Wheelhouse Liner Panel .
  13. Install the rear tire and wheel. Refer to Wheel Removal in Tires and Wheels.
