  1. Install the scan tool.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  3. Select display DTC function with the scan tool.
  4. Check for any stored BCM DTCs related to rear compartment lid release system operation.

No DTCs are stored in memory or current status.
    • DTC is stored in memory or current status (refer to appropriate DTC table).
    • Scan Tool Does Not Communicate with Component.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Place the transmission into the Park position (automatic transmission) or Neutral position with parking brake applied (manual transmission).
  3. Press the transmitter rear compartment lid release button.

Rear compartment lid opens.

Rear compartment lid does not release with transmitter only, Go to Remote Keyless Entry Diagnostic System Check.

  1. Select display BCM output functions with the scan tool.
  2. Press the rear compartment lid release switch once and release.
  1. Scan tool displays rear compartment lid release switch active.
  2. Rear compartment lid releases.
    • Rear Compartment Lid Release System Inoperative (Domestic).
    • Rear Compartment Lid Release System Inoperative (Export).
