Check the CR CONT Minifuse® #20 for an open circuit.

Is the fuse open?

--

Go to Step 4

  1. Disconnect connector C217.
  2. Connect a DMM between connector C217 terminal B and ground.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  4. Measure the available voltage at connector C217 terminal B.

Is the voltage within the specified values?

10.0 -14.0V

  1. Remove the open fuse.
  2. Disconnect connector C217.
  3. Disconnect the DRL Control Module.
  4. Using a DMM, measure the resistance between ground and the connector C217 terminal B leading towards the instrument panel electrical center.

Is CKT 1239 continuous to ground?

--

Repair an open in CKT 1239.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the throttle actuator (TAC) control module.
  2. Using a DMM, measure the resistance between ground and connector C217 terminal A leading towards the throttle actuator (TAC) control module connector C2.

Is CKT 397 continuous to ground?

Go to Step 10

Using a DMM, measure the resistance between ground and connector C217 terminal C leading towards the throttle actuator (TAC) control module connector C2.

Is CKT 84 continuous to ground?

--

Using a DMM, measure the resistance between ground and connector C217 terminal D leading towards the throttle actuator (TAC) control module connector C2.

Is CKT 87 continuous to ground?

Repair CKT 1239 for a short to ground.

  1. Reconnect connector C217.
  2. Using a DMM, backprobe connector C217 terminal A with the positive lead.
  3. Connect the negative lead from the DMM to ground.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
  5. Turn the cruise control ON/OFF switch to ON.
  6. Measure the available voltage at connector C217 terminal A with the cruise control switch in the ON position.

Is the voltage within the specified values?

10.0 -14.0V

  1. Using a DMM, backprobe connector C217 terminal C with the positive lead.
  2. Connect the negative lead from the DMM to ground.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
  4. Turn the cruise control ON/OFF switch to ON.
  5. Measure the available voltage at connector C217 terminal C with the SET button depressed.

Is the voltage within the specified values?

10.0 -14.0V

  1. Using a DMM, backprobe connector C217 terminal D with the positive lead.
  2. Connect the negative lead from the DMM to ground.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
  4. Turn the cruise control ON/OFF switch to ON.
  5. Measure the available voltage at connector C217 terminal D with the RESUME/ACCEL button depressed.

Is the voltage within the specified values?

10.0 -14.0V

  1. Disconnect the throttle actuator control (TAC) module connector C2.
  2. Connect a DMM between the TAC module connector C2 terminal 14 and ground.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
  4. Turn the cruise control ON/OFF switch to ON.
  5. Measure the available voltage at the TAC module connector C2 terminal 14.

Is the voltage within the specified values?

10.0 -14.0V

  1. Connect a DMM between the TAC module connector C2 terminal 4 and ground.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
  3. Turn the cruise control ON/OFF switch to ON.
  4. Measure the available voltage at the TAC module connector C2 terminal 4 with the SET button depressed.

Is the voltage within the specified values?

10.0 -14.0V

  1. Connect a DMM between the TAC module connector C2 terminal 5 and ground.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
  3. Turn the cruise control ON/OFF switch to ON.
  4. Measure the available voltage at the TAC module connector C2 terminal 5 with the RESUME/ACCEL button depressed.

Is the voltage within the specified values?

10.0 -14.0V

  1. Connect a DMM between the THROT CONT Minifuse® #17 terminal A and ground.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
  3. Measure the available voltage at the THROT CONT Minifuse® #17 terminal A.
