  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Close all doors securely.

Does the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Information Center indicate that a door is ajar?

Go to Step 6

Is the radio the only component that is inoperative during RAP?

Go to Step 12

Is the LH window control switch the only component inoperative during RAP?

Go to Step 13

Is the RH window control switch the only component inoperative during RAP?

Go to Step 14

Go to BCM Diagnostic System Check

  1. Turn the ignition to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the LH door ajar indicator switch.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

Is the DOOR AJAR message still displayed on the IPC information center?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 15

  1. Turn the ignition to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the RH door ajar indicator switch.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

Is the DOOR AJAR message still displayed on the IPC information center?

Go to Step 8

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the BCM (lower pink) connector C2.
  3. Disconnect the LH door control module (red) connector C1.
  4. Connect a DMM between the LH door ajar indicator switch connector terminal B and ground.
  5. Check for continuity between ground and CKT 745.

Is CKT 745 shorted to ground?

Go to Step 17

  1. Disconnect the RH door control module (red) connector C1.
  2. Connect a DMM between the RH door ajar indicator switch connector terminal C and ground.
  3. Check for continuity between ground and CKT 746.

Is CKT 746 shorted to ground?

Go to Step 18

  1. Reconnect the BCM (lower pink) connector C2.
  2. Reconnect the LH door control module (red) connector C1.
  3. Reconnect the RH door control module (red) connector C1.
  4. Leave the door ajar switches disconnected.
  5. Reinstall the scan tool.
  6. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  7. Attempt to establish communication with the following modules:
  8. • LH Door Control Module
    • RH Door Control Module
    • Body Control Module
    • Instrument Panel Cluster
  9. Check for an active door message at each of these modules.

Do any of these four modules indicate an active door ajar input?

Go to Step 11

System OK

Replace the module indicating an active door ajar input.

Is the repair complete?

Go to RAP Diagnostic System Check

Replace the radio.

Is the repair complete?

Go to RAP Diagnostic System Check

Replace the LH door control module.

Is the repair complete?

Go to RAP Diagnostic System Check

Replace the RH door control module.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the LH door ajar indicator switch.

Is the repair complete?

Go to RAP Diagnostic System Check

Replace the RH door ajar indicator switch.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the short to ground in CKT 745.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the short to ground in CKT 746.
