1. Install the scan tool.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
3. Select display DTC function with the scan tool.
4. Check for any stored BCM, IPC, PCM, or DOOR DTCs related to Rear Defogger/Heated Mirror operation.
5. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
6. Remove the scan tool.

No DTCs are stored in memory or current status.

DTC is stored in memory or current status (refer to appropriate DTC table).

1. Start the engine and allow vehicle to idle in Park.
2. Press the Rear Defogger switch once and release.

1. Switch returns to the rest position.
2. Rear Window Defogger Indicator turns ON, Rear Defogger Grid becomes warm, and the Outside Rearview Mirrors turn ON.
3. The Rear Window Defogger Indicator, Rear Defogger Grid, and the Outside Rearview Mirrors turn OFF in approximately 10 minutes.

Press the Rear Defogger switch once and release.

1. Switch returns to the rest position.
2. The Rear Window Defogger Indicator, Rear Defogger Grid, and the Outside Rearview Mirrors remain ON for approximately 5 minutes and then turn OFF.

1. Press the Rear Defogger switch once and release.
2. Press the Rear Defogger switch a second time and release.

The Rear Window Defogger Indicator, Rear Defogger Grid, and the Outside Rearview Mirrors remain ON until the Rear Defogger switch is pressed a second time.
