Power Seat Systems Diagnostic System Check

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Install the scan tool.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  4. Select display DTC function with the scan tool.
  5. Check for any stored DTCs related to either DOOR or SEAT operation.

No DTCs are stored in memory or current status.
    • DTC is stored in memory or current status (refer to appropriate DTC table).
    • Scan Tool Does Not Communicate with Component.

  1. Turn ignition to the OFF position.
  2. Remove the scan tool from the diagnostic link connector.
  3. Check the driver's side power seat operation.
  4. Press the driver's side seat control button in the following order:
    5. • Seat forward adjust.
    • Seat rearward adjust.
    • Front vertical adjust up.
    • Front vertical adjust down.
    • Rear vertical adjust up.
    • Rear vertical adjust down.
  1. Driver's seat moves to the forward position.
  2. Driver's seat moves to the rearward position.
  3. Front of driver's seat moves upward.
  4. Front of driver's seat moves downward.
  5. Rear of driver's seat moves upward.
  6. Rear of driver's seat moves downward.
    • Power Seat Does Not Move Forward/Rearward.
    • Power Seat Inoperative (Driver's Seat).
    • Power Seat Does Not Tilt Forward.
    • Power Seat Does Not Tilt Rearward.

  1. Check the passenger's side power seat operation (if equipped).
  2. Press the passenger's side seat control button in the following order:
    3. • Seat forward adjust.
    • Seat rearward adjust.
    • Front vertical adjust up.
    • Front vertical adjust down.
    • Rear vertical adjust up.
    • Rear vertical adjust down.
  1. Passenger's seat moves to the forward position.
  2. Passenger's seat moves to the rearward position.
  3. Front of passenger's seat moves upward.
  4. Front of passenger's seat moves downward.
  5. Rear of passenger's seat moves upward.
  6. Rear of passenger's seat moves downward.
    • Power Seat Does Not Move Forward/Rearward.
    • Power Seat Inoperative (Passenger's Seat).
    • Power Seat Does Not Tilt Forward.
    • Power Seat Does Not Tilt Rearward.

  1. Check the driver's seat lumbar operation (if equipped).
  2. Press the driver's side seat control buttons in the following order:
    3. • Upper lumbar inflate.
    • Upper lumbar deflate.
    • Lower lumbar inflate.
    • Lower lumbar deflate.
    • Side bolster inflate.
    • Side bolster deflate.
  1. Driver's side upper lumbar inflates.
  2. Driver's side upper lumbar deflates.
  3. Driver's side lower lumbar inflates.
  4. Driver's side lower lumbar deflates.
  5. Driver's side bolsters inflate.
  6. Driver's side bolsters deflate.
    • Seat - Lumbar Support Inoperative (Driver).
    • Inoperative Lumbar Support in Both Seats.

  1. Check the passenger's seat lumbar operation (if equipped).
  2. Press the passenger's side seat control buttons in the following order:
    3. • Upper lumbar inflate.
    • Upper lumbar deflate.
    • Lower lumbar inflate.
    • Lower lumbar deflate.
    • Side bolster inflate.
    • Side bolster deflate.
  1. Passenger's side upper lumbar inflates.
  2. Passenger's side upper lumbar deflates.
  3. Passenger's side lower lumbar inflates.
  4. Passenger's side lower lumbar deflates.
  5. Passenger's side bolsters inflate.
  6. Passenger's side bolsters deflate.
    • Seat - Lumbar Support Inoperative (Passenger).
    • Inoperative Lumbar Support in Both Seats.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Engine is OFF, vehicle is in park/neutral and not moving.
  3. Move the driver's seat to the full rear position.
  4. Depress and hold the Memory 1 button until the memory indicator flashes once.
  5. Move the driver's seat to the full front position.
  6. Depress and hold the Memory 2 button until the memory indicator flashes once.
  7. Choose one other alternate seat position that is different from the two previous settings.
  8. Depress and hold both the Memory 1 and Memory 2 button until the memory indicators flash once.
  1. The Memory 1 indicator will glow steady for one second and then flash once when the position for Memory 1 is completed.
  2. Memory 1 is set in the full rear position.
  3. The Memory 2 indicator will glow steady for one second and then flash once when the position for Memory 2 is completed.
  4. Memory 2 is set in the full front position.
  5. The Memory 1/2 indicators will glow steady for one second and then flash once when the position for Memory 1/2 is completed.
  6. Memory 1/2 is set in the designation of the technician's choice.
    • DTC 2242 Memory 1 Switch Fault - DCM-Left.
    • DTC 2244 Memory 2 Switch Fault - DCM-Left.
    • DTC 2605 Seat Front Vert. Position Sensor Failure.
    • DTC 2606 Seat Rear Vert. Position Sensor Failure.
    • DTC 2607 Seat Horizontal Position Sensor Failure.

Now test the Memory switch functions as follows:

    • Depress the Memory 1 button.
    • Depress the Memory 2 button.
    • Depress the Memory 1 and Memory 2 buttons simultaneously.
  1. The driver's side seat will move into Memory position 1 which is in the full rear position.
  2. The driver's side seat will move into Memory position 2 which is in the full front position.
  3. The driver's side seat will move into Memory position 1/2 which is set in the designation of the technician's choice.
    • DTC 2242 Memory 1 Switch Fault - DCM-Left.
    • DTC 2244 Memory 2 Switch Fault - DCM-Left.
    • DTC 2605 Seat Front Vert. Position Sensor Failure.
    • DTC 2606 Seat Rear Vert. Position Sensor Failure.
    • DTC 2607 Seat Horizontal Position Sensor Failure.
