  1. Install the scan tool.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  3. Select display DTC function with the scan tool.
  4. Check for any stored BCM DTCs related to hatch release system operation.

No DTCs are stored in memory or current status.
    • DTC is stored in memory or current status (refer to appropriate DTC table).
    • Scan Tool Does Not Communicate with Component.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Place the transmission into the Park position (automatic transmission) or Neutral position with parking brake applied (manual transmission).
  3. Press the transmitter hatch release button.

Rear hatch opens.

Rear hatch does not release with transmitter only, Go to Remote Keyless Entry Diagnostic System Check.

  1. Select display BCM output functions with the scan tool.
  2. Press the hatch release switch once and release.
  1. Scan tool displays hatch release switch active.
  2. Rear hatch releases.
    • Hatch Release Inoperative (Domestic).
    • Hatch Release Inoperative (Export).
