SOME CUSTOMERS MAY COMMENT THAT THE REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER IN THE CONVERTIBLE TOP IS INOPERATIVE.
CAUSE #1:
THE WIRE LEADS TO THE GLASS CONNECTORS ARE HELD IN PLACE WITH HOOK AND LOOP FASTENERS. THE LOCATION OF THE FASTENER MAY CAUSE THE WIRE TO STRETCH WHEN THE TOP IS OPERATED AND MAY LOOSEN THE TERMINAL IN THE CONNECTOR. IMPROVED PARTS WERE USED IN PRODUCTION BEGINNING IN NOVEMBER, 1997.
CORRECTION #1:
CHECK BOTH CONNECTORS FOR PROPER ASSEMBLY. THE TERMINAL SHOULD BE LOCKED INTO THE CONNECTOR BODY AND THE CONNECTOR HALVES SHOULD BE LOCKED TOGETHER. REPAIR OR REPLACE THE TERMINALS AND CONNECTORS AS NEEDED. ROUTE THE WIRE SO THERE IS NO TENSION ON THE WIRE WHEN THE TOP IS OPERATED.
CAUSE #2:
THE TERMINALS MAY NOT SEAT PROPERLY IN THE CONNECTORS. THE TERMINALS COULD LOSE CONTACT AND STILL APPEAR TO BE PROPERLY INSTALLED. IMPROVED PARTS WERE USED IN PRODUCTION BEGINNING IN NOVEMBER, 1997.
CORRECTION #2:
CHECK BOTH CONNECTORS FOR PROPER ASSEMBLY. THE TERMINAL SHOULD BE LOCKED INTO THE CONNECTOR BODY AND THE CONNECTOR HALVES SHOULD BE LOCKED TOGETHER. REPAIR OR REPLACE THE TERMINALS AND CONNECTORS AS NEEDED.
